Fugitive Vanessa Perez Arrested

Charged and indited for kidnapping

PA NEWS -- Fugitive Vanessa Perez has been captured. The Philadelphia Division of the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department was seeking Vanessa Perez who was wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a 1-year-old boy in Philadelphia. The boy was recovered safely in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Vanessa Perez, a.k.a. "Lala," was charged June 2, 2010, with kidnapping. The indictment alleges that on June 8, 2009, Perez kidnapped T.P., a minor, and transported him from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Germantown, Maryland. If convicted Perez faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison, a 20-year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment with five years' supervised release, a $250,000, and a $100 special assessment.
